FAQ

36V LiFePO4 Battery FAQ

Answers to common questions about 36V lithium golf cart batteries.

Buying questions
Will a 36V LiFePO4 battery fit my golf cart?

Measure your battery tray first. Most 36V carts use a single LiFePO4 pack that is smaller and lighter than three 12V lead-acid batteries.

How much range do I get per charge?

Typically 30 to 40 miles on a full charge depending on terrain, load, and speed. Hills and heavy loads reduce range.

Do I need a new charger?

Yes, a 36V LiFePO4-specific charger (42V output) is required. Your old lead-acid charger will not fully charge LiFePO4 cells.

Can I use my existing 36V lead-acid charger?

Not recommended. Lead-acid chargers may undercharge or overcharge LiFePO4. Use a charger with LiFePO4 charging profile.

How long does a 36V LiFePO4 battery last?

4,000+ cycles at 80% DoD, about 5 times longer than lead-acid. Typically 8 to 10 years of regular golf cart use.

Will it work in cold weather?

Discharge works to -20°C. Charging below 0°C is not recommended. Store indoors during freezing weather.
