72V Lithium Batteries

72V buying guide

72V for performance and utility.

72V systems are for modified carts, utility vehicles, and custom builds that need maximum power. Not a drop-in for standard 48V carts.

  • Performance Golf Carts

72V systems for speed, hill climbing, and heavy loads.

  • Modified Carts

Lifted carts with upgraded motors and controllers.

  • Utility Vehicles

Industrial and utility vehicles requiring 72V power.

  • Custom Builds

DIY electric vehicles and high-power projects.

Battery care

Safety first with 72V systems.

72V systems carry significant energy. Proper installation, wiring, and charging are critical for safe operation.

  • Charging

    Use an 84V LiFePO4-specific charger. Never use a 48V or 36V charger.

  • Storage

Store at 50% charge in a dry location. Disconnect controller to prevent drain.

  • Installation

Use minimum 2 AWG cables. Ensure controller is rated for 72V input.

  • Troubleshooting

High voltage requires professional installation. Contact support for any electrical issues.

FAQ

72V LiFePO4 Battery FAQ

Answers to common questions about 72V lithium golf cart batteries.

Buying questions
Is 72V safe to use?

Yes, our BMS monitors every cell and provides overcharge, over-discharge, and temperature protection. However, 72V requires proper installation and qualified handling.

Can I convert my 48V cart to 72V?

It requires a 72V motor, 72V controller, 72V charger, and possibly upgraded cables and solenoid. This is a full system upgrade, not just a battery swap.

What speed increase can I expect?

Depends on motor and controller, but typically 30 to 50% faster top speed and significantly more torque for hills.

How long does a 72V charge last?

40 to 50+ miles depending on terrain, speed, and load. Aggressive driving and hills reduce range.

Do I need a special charger?

Yes, a 72V LiFePO4 charger (84V output) is required. Using a 48V or 36V charger will not charge the battery.

What carts are compatible?

ICON i40 and similar 72V carts, modified Club Car Onward with 72V conversion kit, and custom builds with 72V motor and controller.
